この彫刻は、以前に一刀彫として紹介した仏像に似て
いますが、目、鼻、口の刻みをいれ、また全体としては
もう少し簡略化した感じの仏像です。
手元にあった裂けた木を使っているので、その裂けた面
を利用して円空のような彫刻を作ってみたいと思います。

木の幅は１㎝から３㎝ぐらいの木片を使います。
あまり大きすぎると本格的な彫刻刀が必要となりま
すので3㎝以上の幅の木が手元にある場合は細くし
たりして、できるだけ大きくなりすぎないようにし
てください。
This exercise use width of the wood is 2 or 3 centimeters
Because if that wood is too big you need a real chisel
so if you dont have the wood is 2 or 3 centimeters
you must sharpen it thin before start this exercise
まずは輪郭線をカットしていきます。
At first carve out line
次に足元、手の位置、あごの下をサクサクと切込
みを入れていきます。
In the next cut step and position of hands
and under the chin
あごの高さが決まったら、少し下を向くように
顔をななめにして削ってください。
When you carved position of the chin
carve face to put on an angle for little bit state of facing down
顔の全体、（幅や頭上の位置）が決まりましたら
、鼻、眼、口という順で切込みを入れていきます。
When you carved whole face(width and top of the head)
carve nose,eyes,mouse in this order
以下、完成です。
あまり突っ込んで作りこむと雰囲気がなくなります。
できるだけ少ないタッチで彫れるように練習すると、
彫刻の上達も早くなります。

that Buddha statue will lost atmosphere
So you should practice carving as few touch as possible
You will become carving well early
できるだけ木の裂けた面を残しつつ彫刻を
彫り進めていくと、一刀彫の雰囲気が出て
きます。
And try carving as dont carve crack as possible
that Buddha statue will has good atmosphere of Ittobori*1
背中も木の裂けた感じを利用して残して
おきます。
